The challenge with Virgin Media was to balance the witty and conversational tone that the brand is famous for, with hard-selling sales messages.

Student broadband

Experiential, outdoor and in-store


WINNER OF IPM GOLD AND BRONZE


The task was to make students aware of Virgin Media’s unique 9-month term-time-only broadband contracts.
Virgin Media broadband was positioned as a student essential because they can't live without it.





Brand ambassadors dressed in onesies engaged with students, rewarding them with a free Krispy Kreme doughnut in exchange for their email, which was used to remind them about the product when they returned to uni in the new term.



We recruited over 10,000 students with an impressive 20% YoY sales growth. We also visited 52 locations over 174 days of experiential activity in the second phase. The campaign received over 10,000,000 impressions through the online activity, with over 37,000 views of the retail landing page created on virginmedia.com. Plus, we gave away over 7,000 doughnuts to students.
